B9: HOW TO WRITE A STRATEGIC PLAN
This bonus session, How to Write a Strategic Plan, includes all the information, tips, tricks and formats you need to formulate and present a strategy document. A strategic plan is a dynamic document or presentation that details your company’s present situation, outlines your future plans, and shows how the company can get there.
The first section recaps some of the work we have done throughout the module on internal and external analysis – with pointers on assembling a company analysis, industry analysis and identifying enablers and challengers.
In Section 2, the focus moves to integrated strategy with a focus on the value proposition – are you serving your customers well and do they understand what they are getting from you? – as well as mapping strategy and setting measures and targets. Section 3 takes you to a high-level implementation plan and the formulation of an integrated scorecard.
Section 4 provides you with the formula you need to write an executive summary including all the gathered and learned information throughout the module, and how to present it in a useful way.
