A7: READER REVENUE

In this session we are going to be looking at Reader Revenue. A lot of the session will be geared around assessing readiness to embark on a reader revenue journey and weighing up whether it is really a viable revenue option for your organisation.

We will be looking at a brief history of paid content, and ask whether you are ready to make the move? We will do a case study of Zimbabwe and reader revenue readiness using internet penetration and credit card usage as ways to assess readiness. There is a checklist to work through for your newsroom and then we will also cover subscription funnels, failure points on a paywall, reader access models, levers to maximise subscriptions (i.e. customer lifetime value and ARPU) and subscriber churn and management.

This is a heavy section which covers a lot of material, so take your time to reflect and digest as you move through the three sections.
